How Do You Measure A Doll To Make Clothes for It?

Barbie is one of the best playmates in almost every child's childhood. Now many Barbie dolls can be dressed up freely. So how do we choose clothes for Barbie dolls? Here are some of our suggestions for your reference.

First, if your doll is not one of our standard dolls, measure the size of the doll and compare its size with the size of our standard dolls to determine which clothes will fit best.

The picture below shows you how to measure these sizes for your doll. Then, you can check it against our standard doll size. There will be a little error in manual measurement, but it will not affect too much. If the difference between your measurement and the product you confirm after purchase is too large, it must be that the data was wrong when measuring.

Note - When measuring the doll's arms, measure the length of the arm from the top of the arm joint to the wrist, not the fingertips, and the leg from the top of the leg joint to the ankle, not the length of the sole of the foot. The best measuring tool is a soft tape measure because it will be closer to the actual size than other rulers.

If you don't have a tape measure, you can try some of my personal measurement habits below and try some great tips that I have used for many years. All you need is a piece of string or ribbon, a ruler and some pins, safety pins or a pen. It's also very handy for measuring necks and other awkward or tiny areas.

If you want to buy shoes and socks, don't forget to measure the doll's feet - both length (heel to toe) and width (widest part)!
